This 1970 Diver’s modern reinterpretation timepiece commemorates the 80th birthday of Japanese explorer Naomi Uemura, the first man in the world to climb the highest peaks of each five continents – wearing a Seiko diving watch. Prospex is a combination of the words 'Professional' and 'Specifications.' The Seiko SLA051J1 Prospex watch combines a 44mm stainless steel case and a stainless steel bracelet with a push button deployment clasp. It has a grey dial with a date display and luminescent hands and indexes, which is protected beneath sapphire crystal glass. Power is generated by the automatic movement. This model also has a water resistance of up to 200 metres. The design was named ‘Captain Willard’ by fans for Martin Sheen’s character who wore it in the ‘Apocalypse Now’ movie.
