The Sporting Swatch

Known for their diverse collaborations within the arts, including a long history of innovation and triumph within the world of horology, Swatch’s reputation is second to none, with previous collaborations from such great industry names as; Alexander Gorlizki, Christian Lacroix, Manish Arora, Yoko Ono and Vivienne Westwood, to name a few.

Proving that they can stay ahead of the times and remain capturing the zeitgeist, Swatch is set to sponsor the London Collections: Men for the second year running. A series of shows celebrating the creative and commercial importance of British brands from emerging talent to global brands and Savile Row tailors.

During this weekend, Swatch will be showcasing their new range of watches titled Gran Turismo. This 18 piece collection takes inspiration from a bygone era of motor racing and the legendary drivers of that time.

Two watches within the collection, Black Brake and Red Brake, draw on the intricate details found on car speedometers and instrument panels. While the real racing doozy comes from the ‘Destination Madrid’ Swatch, a chronograph with tachymeter and 1/10th second sub-register.

These Swatches and many more within the collection will be available to be previewed from the 9-12 January at Victoria House, Bloomsbury.

With such hype around the new London collections, it seems right that Swatch should be taking centre stage. Swatch is rapidly coming into its own within the fashion industry, and becoming a staple amongst many high flying fashion followers.
