Smart Swatch

Following the release of the brands 2014 financial results, the companies chief executive Nick Hayek, surprised us all with the news that they were set to release their own smart watch within the coming months, which could only mean that this new smart Swatch will be presented at Basel world (March 19-26, 2015) - the industry’s most important marketplace and trend-setting show for the world's watch and jewellery industry. This could also coincide with the launch with Apple’s own smartwatch set to be released in April.

“Swatch will launch a new generation of its Swatch smartwatch in the next two to three months. Functions will include communication, mobile payments at stores such as Migros and Coop, and applications that works with Windows and Android - without having to be charged,” Hayek said

Yes you did read that right, ‘without having to be charged’, this is sure to leave apple quaking in their boots, as their new smart watch is rumoured to require a daily charge, with an expected 19 hrs of active and passive use - much like their phones.

House of Watches, unfortunately, cannot confirm that we will be stocking these smart Swatch’s, however, we welcome the newness of technology and the growth of one of our own brands. Swatch has always been able to defend their craft, ever since the introduction of battery-operated watches in the 70s; Swatch continued the Swiss craft and made affordable watches with expert movements and superb craftsmanship accessible to all.

We invite you to explore our collection of Swatch watches, for you to see their pioneering efforts for yourself. With so many available in an array of different colours and designs, including touch screen designs boasting innovation,  you are sure to find the ideal Swatch to suit your personal style.
