Cradley Heathens victory against Kings Lynn rivals
On Monday 25th March, the House of Watches team and our competition winners from last week, headed down to Monmore Stadium to see the Cradley Heathens go up against Kings Lynn rivals. Even though they were defeated at the previous week’s meeting against the Birmingham Brummies, spirits were high and the hope for victory was ever present.
Even though it was a fairly short meeting on account of a heavy downpour before heat 13, the Heathens smashed it yet again making it three home wins out of three with a 45-27 win against Kings Lynn.
As for the riders, it seemed like it was going to be a tough night for Luke Chessell after a few frustrating starts, however, he managed to turn the race on its head and finished off with three straight wins earning a double score at Monmore Green. And, true to form, Ashley Morris went unbeaten in his three rides along with two wins apiece from Max Clegg and Dan Bewley.
Other riders, including Ben Basford and Bradley Andrews, also kept up momentum with great contributions to the final score.
So a huge congratulation goes out to the Heathens!
Also, big news also came when the club announced that the 27th staging of the F.A.S.T Golden Hammer meeting will be at Monmore Green on Tuesday, August 9th, 2016. The traditional Tuesday date will avoid any fixture clashes and will allow for a memorable line-up including the current team, and where possible, previous winners and former Heathens. Full details will be released closer to the date along with rider announcements, so watch this space for further news.
And finally, so you can keep all of your programs up-to-date, here’s a list of the scores from Monday.
CRADLEY 45: Luke Chessell 12+1, Ashley Morris 9, Dan Bewley 8+1, Max Clegg 8, Ben Basford 5, Bradley Andrews 3+1, Jack Kingston R/R.
KING’S LYNN 27: Tom Stokes 6, Josh Bailey 6, Nathan Greaves 6, Scott Campos 4+2, Ryan Kinsley 2+2, Shane Hazelden 2, Layne Cupitt 1.
