Raymond Weil have created this stunning Limited Edition Maestro to celebrate what would have been the 80th birthday of the man whose death is remembered as "The Day The Music Died"- Buddy Holly.
This model begins life as a typical Maestro watch, with a round stainless steel case and oversized crown, an automatic winding mechanism with a 38-hour power reserve, eliminating the requirement for a battery, and a polished stainless steel bracelet. The dial itself is personalised with input from Buddy's widow Maria: pale blue detailing on the silver dial for his favourite colour, his iconic glasses incorporated into the second hand on the subdial, an enlarged '9' opposite the date window for his lucky number, and his signature beneath the brand logo. The smoked sapphire crystal case back references the Buddy Holly Educational Foundation, to whom Raymond Weil are donating part of the proceeds for every watch sold. A stunning limited edition piece, with only 500 made, 250 of which were given to the Buddy Holly Foundation, making this special edition a rare and collectible timepiece.
